I have to do this one before it is too late…
Did Hannah Make the Right Decision?
Ultimately for her, yes she did make the right decision. This was her story to write and her life to live. Everything happens for a reason, right?
But in my opinion…………….. no, she absolutely did NOT make the right decision.
Why Tyler was the better choice:
- Tyler genuinely put Hannah first for everything. He faced his fear of horses for her, he listened to her and respected all of choices, he defended her whenever her character was in question (thanks Luke P.), and she even said multiple times that he was always a complete gentleman who put her first!
- Tyler was there for the right reasons. I mean, I am sure that Tyler went on the show with the desire of ending up having a modelling career and being able to break away from living in Jupiter, FL floating around in the back of his head but this was never his main focus. (Why would someone want to break away from living in Jupiter you say? Well, considering I live in Jupiter I know that the area becomes a trap, especially if you have grown up here. It is so important to get away to experience more of the world and to get a different perspective on life.) His main focus was always Hannah which means that he was indeed there for the right reasons.
- Tyler did not promote anything for personal gain. This goes with being on the show for the right reasons but still deserves a category of its own. The only thing that Tyler could be promoting was his body and that was more so the producers’ fault. Jed did the exact opposite and he even told Hannah near the beginning of the season that he only came on the show to promote his music. At first I commended his honesty but then he decided to use every moment he could to pull out his guitar and start singing some terrible self written songs. If I have to hear “I’ll be your Mr. Right” one more time I think I’ll pull my ears off.
- Tyler and Hannah seemed to have genuine chemistry. I don’t know what it was but Tyler and Hannah just made the most sense. They fit so well together. Every time Jed and Hannah were shown, something seemed off. I know that some of this is due to editing and the producers and that whole thing but not once did I feel that Jed and Hannah clicked as much as Tyler and Hannah. I mean, she BAWLED her eyes out when he walked away after the fantasy suite as she realized that she would not see him again for awhile. Jed got no tears. If that does not signify that she had extremely deep feelings for him then I don’t know what does.
Should Tyler and Hannah get back together?
This one is tricky. As much as I think that they are perfect for each other I also believe that Tyler should be cautious. In the end, Hannah did decide to choose someone else to get engaged to and to spend the rest of her life with. Tyler was second best. When Tyler and Hannah were finally face to face during the After the Final Rose, I was getting weird vibes. It seemed like Hannah was considering Tyler as a backup plan which is not okay. I truly hope that he takes the time to talk everything out with her, asks tons of questions, gets answers, and gets clarity on the whole situation. I also hope that Hannah realizes that she can’t put people on the back burner for when her first plan doesn’t work out. I am sure that she does realize this but her actions/decisions were still questionable and confusing at times.
As for Jed?
I think that Jed needed a HUGE wake up call and man, he certainly got it. Everything he did was all for his selfish desires. He went on the show to promote his music, he did not go on the show for Hannah. He never ended his relationship with his former girlfriend, Haley, and reassured her that he loved her but then somewhere along the line he decided that it would be more beneficial for himself to try to erase his girlfriend so he could continue his relationship with Hannah.
I honestly do not think that he had deep feelings for Hannah. I noticed that during the finale he was hardly smiling and this was AFTER she chose him. What man does not smile when the woman he loves says yes to his proposal? Sketchy ones, that’s who. Then, after filming ended he went home and told some people that he “won”. He did not say that he got engaged to the love of his life, he said that he “won”. That tells me that he did not think about Hannah or the show as more than a game that he was able to manipulate his way through. If he was able to think through this whole conniving plan for the Bachelorette and treat his girlfriends the way he did, I can only imagine all of the other scheming, sketchy things that he has done in his life. So far it does seem like he has being doing some intense thinking about everything but I still think he has a long way to go, judging by his answers to Hannah throughout the finale. I am certain that he will eventually get to place that he needs to be and I sure hope that he will get there soon before he makes anymore poor choices.
